Howdy pups! Well, Christmas has passed and 2009 is almost over – BUT there is one more day of celebration in between. Anypup know what it is? If you guessed “Pop’s Barkday” then you were right!! Happy b-day (tomorrow) Pop 🙂

So how was everypups Christmas? Ours was crappy with a capital “C”. Santa didn’t leave ANYTHING for us this year. What’s up with that? We were pawsomely good all year and everything. Shelly thinks that our presents must have slipped in between the seats of Santa’s sleigh and that he’ll bring them to us as soon as he finds them. I sure hope she’s right. Since we didn’t have any gifts under the tree this year, Shelly plopped a bow on her head and tried to pass herself off as a pressie. But that didn’t fool anydoggie!

So to make matters worse, today we had to get a fur-cut. We were supposed to get cuts earlier in the month, but they were too “busy” to take us and we were getting pretty wooly. Shelly was really puffy 🙂 So she got her usual furcut except Mom loved her baby duck whispy fur on her head so much they asked if she could keep it. She looks great, but she seems to be having a slight problem with static electricity.

I on the other hand, am sporting the classic “dutch boy” look. Pop has been teasing me all afternoon saying I look like a pretty little girl but Mom loves it and that’s all that matters. Thanks Mom!

Last week, we all went on a road trip to visit Maggie (and Grandma & Grandpa) and have a sleep over! It was pawsome. Me and Tommy got to ride in the car and after I woke up from my nap, we were at Grandma’s! I’ve been there before, but this was Tommy’s first trip away from home that wasn’t to the V-E-T or the lake. We had a great time lounging on strange sofas and chairs and playing with all of Maggie’s toys. Plus, Pop thinks Grandma slipped us some goodies while cooking in the kitchen. Maggie is a super sweet girl who’s been having a tough time of it lately. She has a sickness that almost brought her to the Bridge a few weeks ago, but she’s a tough cookie, and fought back. We’re sooo glad we had the chance to spend some time with her while she was feeling well.

When we came home, me and Tommy had fur-cut appointments and this time Tommy wanted to get a “real” cut – that means he wanted to look more like me 🙂 So the last two pics below show how handsome he looks with his “puppy-cut”. I do have to admit, he looks super cute!

Finally! Mom & Pop broke out the sushi toys that our pup friend, Prada gave to us. We got to taste some “doggie sushi”, tuna, and shrimp! Well, it wasn’t technically the real thing but hey, they squeaked! After about 15 minutes the toys were starting to be de-stuffed and I almost got the squeaker out of the shrimp but Pop took it away from me. Tommy even seemed to enjoy them although I had to show him how to make squeaky music. Sooner or later, he’ll get the hang of it 🙂

Continuing with the theme of our last post “sleeping on the sofa”, we see that Shelly & Tommy are definitely joined at the hip.

I finally started taking guitar lessons again after about two years. Hence the spotty posts here lately. I have to practice you know! So I’ve been hanging out in our “music room” so Judy doesn’t have to hear me playing boring scales over and over. Apparently it doesn’t sound all that bad though because these two like to snooze about 4 feet away from me while I strum away!

We had a totally pawesome weekend. Mom and Pop decided to take us to the Lake to hunt for rocks (and to see the lake of course). I had never been there before but Shelly went last year with our Angel brother Simon and Angel sister Scarlett. Even though we apparently live only about 5 minutes from the lake, they took us to a more secluded area on the other side so we also got to enjoy a long car ride. I have to admit that I started to get a little nervous when the car stopped and we all piled out.

There were new smells EVERYWHERE and these little things called leaves and sticks kept tripping me up! We headed to the lake’s edge where Shelly showed me the water and we did a little investigating. Shelly said she saw something in the water but I didn’t see anything (I’m kinda glad we didn’t run into any woodland creatures). We hunted for some rocks to bring home with us, drank out of Tupperware and enjoyed the great outdoors. Soon it turned hot and muggy so we headed back to the air conditioned car and back home. For my first trip, I think it was a success and can’t wait to do it again!
